PAST
THE PARKA JACKET
The parka jacket (or anorak) is a water-repellent jacket padded with fur (natural or synthetic) featuring a buttoned hood and a zip closure up to the neck. Some models feature a hood with a trim in fur (either faux fur or real fur).
Hailing from the Inuit race, it used to be crafted from reindeer hide or seal skin and offered ideal protection against the harsh climate. As from the middle of the twentieth century, it started to be made from synthetic waterproof fibres, such as nylon. It is still today an informal piece of outerwear that will serve well for off-duty, military or sports occasions.
