BRITISH ARMY DESERT DPM CAMOU JACKET - 1990’S / CAMOU ON CAMOU

British Army Desert Camouflage DPM Jacket, camou on camou.

Scraps of fabric from prototypes and dead stock, lasered and sewn individually on hood, shoulders and back to recreate the original camouflage effect on which camouflage is based.

Normally we use nature (leaves, branches and land) to camouflage.

Here we used our left over which thus becomes the main interpreter of the design of this jacket.

Padded orange lining inside embroidered with onion stitch, detachable and wearable individually.

The hood is detachable and covered with the same fabric offcuts.

MAIN MATERIAL: 70% COTTON, 30% POLYESTER

This item was part of the DPM Combat Uniform developed by the British Army at the beginning of the 1980’s for the ‘Desert Storm’ operation.

Through the years different patterns were created starting from this camouflage, so it is now possible to find it in many color variations.

This style was very appreciated by soldiers, both for the fit and the fabric.

DPM is the acronym for Disruptive Pattern Material and was introduced by the British Army during the 1960’s, now it is one of the most copied patterns.
