PAST
-
From the 1960’s, the USA started to develop a pattern used just for the desert environment, drawing their inspiration from the Californian desert.
In 1973 the US Army developed the nal version of this pattern, which consisted in 2 shades of brown on a beige background, all covered with little black and white pebbles.
Used for the rst time during the ‘desert storm’ operation, the complete uniform was composed by a eld jacket and cargo pants with a six color desert pattern. Later in the years, soldiers called this uniform ‘Chocolate chip pattern’, because the little graphics pebbles elements reminded them of chocolate cookies.
