HUNGARIAN JACKET - 1960’S

Hungarian jacket made with the union of another Hungarian jacket dyed blue. It comes in two variants: military green with blue insert and blue navy with green insert.

The sartorial intervention dedicated to this jacket required a lot of time and care: it is very difficult to excise the military garments, which are sewn tenaciously, and then proceed to a perfect tailoring that makes them match again.

100% Cotton

This item is well known as the M65 field jacket and is part of the M65 uniform.
 It was made with a resistant olive green shaded 100% cotton fabric and was used between 1965
and 2000.


The Communist Cuban Army, who in turn were inspired by the US forces, were the inspiration for the M65 uniform.


We can then assume indirectly that the Hungarian Army derived this uniforms from the American Army and this is the reason why the M65 is almost identical to the M51 developed by the USA during the Korean War.


The M65 was distributed amongst all ranks of the Military, Officials included, and was also worn by Police Officers, even if in this case it had a different grayish color.


The M65 was intended to be used for both barracks and the combat field.
